Odin, the Valfather – father of the slain and of the Aesir, the very Norse gods themselves. It is his name that graces the end of the Highland Park Viking Legends trilogy; a bright, fruity and complex single malt from the wilds of Orkney, in the long Viking tradition of Scotland’s northernmost distillery. Crafted using whisky matured exclusively in refill casks, Valfather is also Highland Park’s most heavily peated release to date.

Best in the Viking Legend series, the 47% ABV really carries the flavours through, it’s Smokey but nothing like a Laphroaig or Ardbeg despite it apparently being their peatiest ever release?

Ordered and Delivered quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately not tasted yet as its a present for the boy to complete his set. Comparison test to follow. 1 & 2 are excellent so expecting this to be as well. Stars are a forecast .

By far my favorite whisky. The fruitiness at the beginning is followed by a pure peat which I've never experienced before.
