Product Description

An Indian single malt from Rampur, distilled in the picturesque foothills of the Himalayas and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and ex-Cabernet Sauvignon casks. Aromas of honeysuckle, lychee and tobacco open on the nose, followed by orange zest, green bananas and sweet baking spices. The palate offers notes of cinnamon and clove, marmalade, savoury malt and sweet lychee, with black pepper lingering in the finish.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Ning Heywood, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Honeysuckle opens on the nose, followed by floral lychee and earthy tobacco leaves. Touches of orange zest and green bananas build, as does savoury malt, sultanas and honey-drizzled dates. A hit of sweet spices appears: black pepper, clove, cinnamon and nutmeg, with flashes of sweet crystalised ginger

    • Finish

Black pepper and smouldering tobacco leaves, black cherry and honeyed dates linger long into the finish

    • Palate

Cinnamon and clove break through at the start, quickly followed by tobacco smoke and bitter marmalade. Mocha joins the fray, with floral lychee and savoury malt. Rich fruits peek through – raisins, figs, prunes – alongside an armada of baking spices
