From Two Swallows come this cherry-and-salted-caramel-infused spiced rum, produced by the Diamond Distillery in Guyana. This sweet, salty and lively rum was created by Thomas Hurst as a tribute to the famous Captain Matthew Webb – the first man to swim the English Channel – and draws its name from the tattoo of two swallows, often chosen by experienced sailors, which legend has it carry the souls of the drowned to heaven.

Lovely smooth and full of flavour would strongly recommend, bottle looks cool.

On opening the bottle there an immediate nose of caramel. We tried it neat to sample and the rum is overpowered by caramel and a very subtle accent of cherry. If I hadn’t known better I would have guessed it was a flavoured vodka. This is very much a rum for making cocktails, just mixing with some Pepsi bring the liqueur alive, more spice comes through with a little chilli burn, caramel and vanilla pop on the nose and cherry is just there but doesn’t dominate. A great mixing rum.
