A 15-year-old Glenallachie single malt, matured in a combination of Pedro Ximenez and oloroso sherry casks, creating a smooth, rich character. Aromas of raisins, butterscotch and sweet spices fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of dark chocolate, orange peel, banana, raisins and caramel.

    I bought this whisky for my son and he mentioned that it is one of the nicest he has ever tasted. It was all guesswork for me, but to hear that he will always have a bottle of Glenallachie single malt sitting on his drinks trolley, was a real happy moment for me! I did well.

    Tasting notes are often open to interpretation, sometimes they are more than a little fanciful. But most certainly not in this case! This dram delivers on every promise with complete harmony between sweet and spice. The Sherry fuelled fruitiness backed up with dark and lingering chocolate with a lasting, satisfying glow across the palate. So much complexity for the price. Absolute steal. Billy Walker is bottling a little bit of magic up there at Glenallachie.

    This is Christmas in a dram. The nose is comforting, reminds me of festive fruits. I get some apricot along with the butterscotch. It’s really good. In the mouth I get chocolate covered raisins. Finish is beautifully warming. This really is a very very good whisky and well worth the investment.
