This XO Calvados from Christian Drouin has been matured in a combination of ex-Bordeaux, ex-sherry and ex-Cognac casks, creating a warm mix of cinnamon-baked apples, almond and ginger aromas. The palate offers notes of wild apples, apricots, roasted nuts, cinnamon, oak and raisins.

Got this as an intro to Calvados, as I was getting a little bored being locked in with only bourbon, armagnac and grappa. Nice and delicate - I really like it and would recommend - although I can't offer comparisons to other calvados.
