Just open one , saved from 8 years ago - wow ! what a nose. really, they don't make them as they used to. Not anymore. Punchy nose, beautiful sherry notes show thru-and-thru. Peat level is just right. Thick and tongue-coating sweet.
These old Cask Strength releases were for a long time the best of the old range of Bowmores, especially during the 1990s. They are much closer in style to the southern Islay malts with massive salty coastal notes and some seriously thick peat on the palate. Great, boisterous whisky
