Very popular with rye aficionados, this must be tried by American whiskey enthusiasts. This complex, potent spirit is perfect for a rye Manhattan, and amazingly won 'World's Best American Whiskey' at the World Whisky Awards 2010, beating off competition from George T. Stagg.Tasting Notes (1)

Tasting Notes by Mark Gillespie, World Whiskies Awards 2012
Smooth toasted rye note dominates with touches of honey, oak, pipe tobacco and caramel. Peppery with a hint of honey underneath and a slight touch of oranges as the spice fades, along with a hint of cola. Long and smooth with nice cinnamon and rye notes.
Strong Full bodied Rye ( this is my first Rye). Not a smooth as Irish Whiskey but it has it's own charm. It will lend itself to mixers because of its dominant flavours.
Purchased for my husband for use in his authentic Manhattan cocktails. He says it is very very good.
STILL DELICIOUS. Reviews below back to 2011 rave and it is still fantastic and affordable. Let it sit for 15 minutes and add a few drops of water. Crazy good. Every sip is a little different. Carmel, rye bread, spice, tobacco, leather and grandpa's old pipe. I think I like this more than my favorite bourbon.
I bought this whiskey solely on reputation. A reputation of being the bartenders go to rye whiskey. I must say the reputation is well deserved. This rye has everything a rye should(a warm, creamy spice on the nose, a luscious cinnamon and caramel apple with peppery heat on the tongue, and a finish that sticks around just long enough.)It does not have the one thing that rye lovers hate the most (inflated prices due to the current "hip" status of the spirit). I'll keep a decanter of this great rye in the cupboard from now on.
I admit i had took a plunge with this one. This is not subtle by any means. Its got a kick and lots of heat. I drink it neat. Nice flavours plenty of depth . A delight.
