Islay Mist 8 Year Old Reviews

I don't know what happened since my last review, but there is not a hint of peat left in this whisky. It tastes like cheap grain whisky, nothing more. Avoid.
This is my favourite inexpensive blend. It's also a great choice to introduce someone to Laphroaig, which brings the peat smoke to this party. It's not Laphroaig, but here in Canada, Islay Mist 8 is about a third of the price of Laphroaig 10. A very nice introduction to peated whisky.
A nice blend, smoother and silkier than your standard fare. Fairly peaty yet with great honeyed sweetness and just a touch of sherried malt in there somewhere. Very easy-drinking. Not the most complex blend I've had but satisfying nonetheless.
