A bold and smoky peated single malt from Caperdonich, matured in barrels for 18 years before being bottled as part of the Secret Speyside Collection. Aromas of bonfire smoke, poached pears and hot tar fill the nose, complemented by notes of baked apple pie, smouldering driftwood, orange zest and aromatic smoke throughout the palate.

Caperdonich distillery was dismantled in its entirety back in 2011, making it not only closed, but firmly lost. As part of the Secret Speyside series, no fewer than six individual bottlings of Caperdonich single malt whiskies are now available to buy.

    I adore this; I wish it was a more affordable bottle or someone made a similar bottle. The nose reminds me of hiking in the woods and stopping to eat an orange.. woodland and orange, an odd but lovely combination.

    The nose is fantastic, the taste is even better. Citrus and pine on the nose. The earthy peat is there as well. Taste, robust citrus fruits and an Ashey finish.
