I really enjoyed this 11 year old English singe malt. It is a delicious Bourbon matured whisky with the typical flavor profile, honey, vanilla, apples and other fresh fruits along side a nice amount of spice and citrus. It had a nice silky, soft texture with a decent sweet finish. Certainly helps being at 46%, and I believe it is natural colour and un chill filtered. I would definitely recommend this whisky, but don't take my word for it, buy a bottle and make your own judgment. I also just want to clarify following the review below. The 11 year of come out in large batches each year, this year it was 3600 bottle which is roughly around 15 casks. So it is a large batch but is still limited. Last years batch sold out, and was out of stock for a while.
Not great. Ive tried a couple of expressions from this distillery and i just cant get on with their house style. Though this is a step up from their core range because of its age statement i didnt find it a particularly enjoyable or memorable dram. I had the bottle for a few months and even after revisiting it a few times i ended up giving it away to a friend. It just has no character or complexity, even at 46%. You expect so much from this because of its presentation and the noise created by the distillery regarding its release, but unfortunately it just doesn't live up to the hype. Its a limited release thats still pretty readily available everywhere so that should tell you something. Leave it on the shelves is my advice. And if you want good English whisky look west to The Cotswold Distillery and spend your money better.
