About Diplomatico
Located at the foot of the Andes Mountains in Venezuela, Distilerias Unidas S.A is the home of Ron Diplomatico. Using locally-grown sugarcane, Diplomatico is made using three unique types of still – Barbett column, Batch Kettle and copper pot stills – creating rich, complex layers of fruit and spice on the palate.
Diplomatico & Sustainability
Diplomatico’s Distilerias Unidas is located in the Terepaima National Park, in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, and has dedicated itself to protecting the environment, creating a system for managing its sub-products and recycling waste, while optimising its resources. The distillery is working to reduce both its energy usage and greenhouse emissions, and has already successfully reduced its water consumption for production by half.

Diplomatico, and Zacapa Centenario, are amongst the best sipping rums in the world. They never disappoint, particularly the reserva. Of the mixer rums my favourite is Myers Original: Try squeezing five oranges, now put into a long glass, 2 shots (50 millilitres) Myers rum, fill the glass up with the orange juice. Absolutely delicious.
Before this Rum I always bought the regular reserva exclusiva.Compare to exclusiva this rum is not that sweet and have different character,Is more mature. I can’t complain about it.At least we have two different rums so depends on you mood you can choose this for more matured flavors less sweet or you can have the classic which everyone likes .
Beautifully smooth sipping rum 2 cubes of ice and a glug of this in my favourite rum glass is perfect for a winters evening . Try it and you will enjoy it
