Johnnie Walker Red Label was launched in its current form by brothers George and Alexander Walker in 1909, though it had existed as Walker's Special Old Highland Red Label for some years previously. Alexander blended a type of whisky which is more suited to mixing with soda than the heavier, more old-fashioned whiskies, and named it after his grandfather, who had started the family business in 1820. Today it is the world's most popular whisky and is sold in more than 200 markets world-wide.

    Whisky nose,

Always fancied trying red label as I liked black label so much. No complaints I really like it would recommend.

    Nigel Brown,

Light, sweat and fruity with a hint of smoke on the finish. Very good blended whisky and great value for money.

    Alfred E. Burer,

There is no doubt Johnnie Walker Red is the best scotch. Depending on your mood it can be drunk neat, on ice, or with a mixer. I like coke as a mixer. But generally over ice. There is only one rating. The Whiskey Exchange gets the same. Unbelievable! No one in the US would send me Johnnie in Hawaii but they didn’t hesitate. What can I say but thank God.

Look, if you're a scotch connoisseur, this is not going to be something that you seek out. But for blending, or getting something on ice at a bar with a lousy selection, you could do worse. In those situations, I prefer it to Dewars, Cutty and even its big brother JWB.

I was hesitant about buying this whisky due to some of the comments here. But i did it anyways, and i can honestly say that is pretty good. Im not a sommelier or anything like that, but it is really tasty. The smell is sooo different to the taste... it is sweet and smooth, with a hint of smoke. If we talk about value, this hits the spot. I think that the bad comments are beacause of its popularity. People tend to criticize popular whiskys just beacause they are popular... the same thing happens with jack daniels. I would totally recommend it.
