A small-batch rye whiskey from Willet's, matured for four years in a handful of specially-selected casks. Layered aromas of cherry tart, cinnamon, baking spices and oak fill the nose. The palate offers notes of black cherries, burnt vanilla, baking spices and green rye.

I bought this whiskey after buying a sample with my order of two bottles of 15 and 17yo Canadian Rye (from other distillers). I ended up very surprised to actually liking this 4yo a lot more than the other two, so ended up with a bottle of this one too! (So much for saving me a few quids with the sample to get over the free delivery threshold...) It’s very spicy, has really lovely grassy undertones. It’s quite complex in the mouth and changes as you drink it. The finish is lovely, although not lingering for too long unfortunately. It’s comparable to some of the stellar Rye I had in the past. At this price point it is very good. If it was slightly cheaper I’d give it the full five stars.
