A fruity, clean and polished malt with a touch of honey and spice, Aberfeldy 12 Year Old is an excellent introduction to this Highland distillery. Aberfeldy's main claim to fame is as the heart of the excellent Dewar's blend but whiskies like this are putting it firmly in the spotlight.Tasting Notes (2)
Tasting Notes by Stuart P
Fresh and fruity – freshly cut melon, green apple and pear – along with hot toast and honey with a sprinkling of freshly grated nutmeg.
Lovely smooth texture, with rich honeyed fruit freshened up with crisp apple notes. Gentle, sweet spice adds to the complexity. Very drinkable.
The rich mouthfeel lingers, with the honeyed fruit lasting longest. Good balance.
A lovely dram that will please lovers of fresh, fruity whiskies.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Full, golden yellow.
Almost incense-like, heather honey with a fruity softness, notes of pineapple, toast and cereal. Syrupy, lingering on the tongue like a liqueur.
Full flavour, the perfume characteristics become more spicy, with a bitter hint of Seville oranges in a decidedly dry finish.

Smoothest Whisky ever tried
Not very good. Just about any other single malt in this price range is better. It’s not terrible, but I would not buy it again. Most others in this price range have me wanting another fill. Not this. Nice mellow feeling from drinking it, but it just lacks the quality of flavor profile to be expected at this price point. This does not belong on the same self as Gkenlivet, Glenmorangie, Arberlour, Macallan, Glenfiddich, Talisker and others in this class.
Dont get the good reviews. This whisky have some going for it. Long finnish, lots of "dark fruits" which is there for a long time. Rather boring actually. Its a great whisky for a party , not so great as a sipper, Very "2 dimmensional" a burn in the start going to deep or semi-deep fruits. With ice?? simply less of everything. Nothing wrong with that other than this is simply better neat. With coke ?? Well strange enough it has punch enough to go thru. But really this is better neat. Better than most blended whisky as sipper , as malt you can find better in the same pricerange. If youre willing to pay a little more you will get way better.
A great all rounder, fantastic for the money. Can’t go wrong at all, a fair bit of depth too
