A Perfect Measure sample bottle of a truly superlative VSOP from boutique producer Paul Beau. Rich, perfectly balanced and incredibly complex for 'only' a VSOP - we're sure that some much older cognacs went into this cuvee. The delicate balance of flavour and finesse is extraordinary at this level. Clearly the work of a blender at the very top of his game.

Thanks for the replies guys, after the PB's dissapeared last xmas, I thought they were gone for good, especially as I heard they are now looking to sell the company. I will pick up a bottle each of the PB Borderies and Guillon-Painturaud Vieille Reserve for xmas :)

Paul Beau and Guillon-Painturaud are two completely separate, family run cognac producers. They are however geographically close to each other near Segonzac which is the small town right in the centre of Grande Champagne region. They both make exquisite cognacs, although completely different in style. Both brands are available from The Whisky Exchange.

I know the owners personally and can confirm that Paul Beau is an independant family run business and has not merged into "Guillon Painturaud", which is a different cognac producer.
