Port Charlotte PAC:01 2011 Heavily Peated

A Perfect Measure sample bottle of a heavily-peated 2011 Port Charlotte single malt from Bruichladdich, PAC:01 has been matured in ex-American whiskey casks for six years before being finished in ex-Pauillac red wine casks for a further two years before bottling. Aromas of clove, ginger, chocolate, toasted malt, toffee, coconut and vanilla mingle with melon, citrus, plums and raisins on the nose, alongside rich waves of salty peat smoke. The palate offers notes of dried fruit, marzipan, earthy peat, seaweed, orange and salted caramel that linger in the finish.
