A rare bottling of White Horse blended whisky, bottled in the 1950s when Lagavulin and Glen Elgin malts played a vital role in the blend’s recipe. This bottling carries the Royal Warrant by Queen Elizabeth II and was released for the US market.
Named after an ancient Edinburgh coaching inn, the White Horse blend was first introduced in 1890 by the legendary Peter Mackie at the height of the blended whisky boom in Scotland. White Horse Distillers was granted its first Royal Warrant in 1908 by King Edward VII and continued until 2000, when its owner, Diageo, removed the company from use. Modern bottlings of the brand can still be found in certain markets, although less widely distributed than before.
