A Perfect Measure sample bottle of the second release in Torabhaig's Legacy series. Allt Glean is a smoky whisky made with a small parcel of casks from 2017 and 2018, each filled with heavily-peated whisky. Aromas of heathery smoke, blossom honey, barley sugars and salty sea air fill the nose, complemented by notes of vanilla cream, bonfire smoke, hot tar, oily brine and sweet spices throughout the palate.

    Allt Gleann is wonderful! Clean, fresh, simple, good-natured, peaty and vibrant....all at three years in the barrel. Kudos to Torabhaig. I will be the first in line when Torabhaig 10 arrives in 2028!

    Enjoyable dram. The vanilla, brine and honey really shine in this one, with a little heat and slight smoke!

    Gerrymandering,

    I like peated whiskies from all the islands, but sadly for me this is just far too young to really take on any significant notes, particularly on the palate. Other than a pleasant, intense smoke, there's little else because of its lack of exposure to the cask. And for such a young spirit, significantly over priced. Like Sauvignon Blanc in the glass, which is not a criticism, just an observation. Not sure what the rationale was here, but for me needs to rest for much longer.
