A Perfect Measure sample bottle of a rich Danish rye whiskey from Stauning, made with a combination of local rye and barley, and matured in virgin American oak barrels. Aromas of freshly-baked rye bread, wine gums and pepper fill the nose, complemented by notes of dried fruit, ripe cherries, vanilla and citrus throughout the palate.

    Love this whisky. Introduced via the Summerton Club and fell in love. So very different from anything else I've tried. Such complex nose and flavour. Pepper, dried fruits, sour cherries, those little biscuits you get with coffee. Delicious. Not the smoothest whisky out there, but the sort of drink you can get as much enjoyment from just with your nose in the glass as you can drinking the stuff.

    This Danish rye is something really different. Its got a subtly sweet, red berry nose with a fresh sort of peppery hit, almost smoky like an Islay, but not as strong. Taste is quite minty but kind of vanilla. Its very nice, not like an American rye at all, very different from a scotch, reminds me of a bold, classy gin or vodka, so very European I guess. Excellent.
