Surrounding the town of Rust on the Western side of Lake Neusiedl an area famed for its sweet wines made from Botrytis affected grapes. Kurt does produce some world class examples of sweet wines but he also produces some beautiful red wines from vineyards he farms biodynamically. Let this wine breathe when it is first opened to let the fruit really open up. On the nose red fruits; raspberry, cranberry with some rosemary – the palate has more of the same with crunchy red fruits and a beautiful spicy edge. Try this with lamb chops or a vegetable lasagne.
