The third release of Ferrand Renegade Barrel started as a 100% Grande Champagne Cognac, distilled in 2011 and matured in French oak barrels for nine years, before being finished for a year in American oak ex-Jamaican rum barrels. Aromas of orange, guava, gooseberry, almond croissant, vanilla and honeysuckle fill the nose, complemented by notes of quince, peach, tangerine, nutmeg and cinnamon, lemongrass, pepper and coffee throughout the palate.

Really pleased to have bought this on impulse. Being a rum fan, the addition of the rum barrel finish adds a lot to the flavour profile, which is as described rather complex, and I love it.
