What is

Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle?

The pinnacle of Laurent-Perrier’s range of Champagnes, the Grand Siècle series eschews vintages in favour of blends that recreate the ‘perfect year’ in Champagne. Each iteration, of which this is the 25th, is a blend of three exceptional vintages that is then aged in cellars for at least 10 years. The blend is always comprised of a majority of Chardonnay grapes, supplemented with Pinot Noir, which are selected from 11 of Champagne’s 17 existing Grand Crus.

Grand Siècle was first created in 1959 and remains an outstanding example of a top-quality cuvée that consistently delivers Champagnes with exceptional freshness, finesse and structure.

What the critics say

James Suckling – 99pts

“Incredible aromas of apple skin, pie crust, praline and flowers. So young in the nose. Full-bodied with super-fine tannins. It’s tight and refined, yet structured and intense. Really long and beautiful.”

Jancis Robinson – 17.5/20

“Deep gold with the tiniest bead. Very pungently aromatic and with a texture as smooth as silk. Utterly luxurious.”

About

Laurent-Perrier

The history of this iconic Champagne house starts in 1812, but it didn’t get its name until Mathilde Emilie Perrier, widow of Eugène Laurent, decided to combine their surnames to take the house forward into a new era. Laurent’s daughter later inherited the maison and sold it to Marie-Louise de Nonancourt, née Lanson, in 1939, keeping Laurent-Perrier’s roots firmly amongst the families of Champagne. Her son Bernard was appointed CEO in 1948 after a rigorous apprenticeship in all aspects of the wine trade.

Bernard was to take Laurent-Perrier from a small house, producing just 80,000 bottles per year, to a globally-recognised brand working with the best winegrowers to produce Champagnes sold in more than 160 countries. Today, Laurent-Perrier is best known for its rosé, presented in the iconic-shaped bottle, and for its non-vintage Champagne.
