A bold expression of the Glenallachie distillery character. This richly textured malt was matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons along with a small proportion of virgin oak casks and red wine barriques. Heather honey and ginger nuts sit alongside toasted almonds and baking spices on the palate.

    Good entry to GA range, and value for money. However very sweet and syrupy in comparison to the much better 15 yr old and 10 yr cask strength that I adore. Even sweeter than the 11PX and lacks the complexity of these other expressions. My view - great if you’re on a budget, but the older albeit more expensive Glenallachie bottles are much better. I was left craving a Campbeltown to balance the sugar overload after tasting.
