Plantation Isle of Fiji
A Perfect Measure sample bottle of a fruity, tropical rum from Plantation, made using traditional techniques and locally-grown Fijian sugar cane. Initially matured in bourbon casks in Fiji, this rum is sailed to southwest France where it undergoes a secondary maturation in French oak casks. Aromas of pear, apple, banana, gooseberry, nutmeg, vanilla and a wisp of smoke fill the nose. The palate offers notes of vanilla fudge, prunes, coconut, honey and ginger.

Was so looking forward to this. The aroma was delicious; everything I would expect of a tropical island drink. Unfortunately, somewhere between glass and mouth that aroma was lost and the remaining taste was of base spirit with something unidentified added. Sadly, it ended up in a batch of pseudo-cocktails just to get rid.

This really is a fantastic bottle of booze. I made the mistake of mixing it into a cocktail for my first taste, while it was delicious, this rum really deserves to be sipped straight. Ordering my second bottle shortly.

Great rum for cocktails. A drier style when sipped with plenty of oak, ginger and wood spice gives way to rich ripe tropical fruit notes when mixed longer. Banger!

Took a punt on this, didn’t even know Fiji made rum but my word it’s superb, worth twice the price. I bought for mixing but I’m actually just draining the bottle sipping it neat. Lovely drop.
