A 2005 Ledaig single malt from independent bottler Single & Single that was made at Tobermory distillery and initially matured in a single American oak cask, before a stint finishing in an ex-sherry cask. Aromas of sweet campfire smoke, honey and ginger spice fill the nose, complemented by notes of dark chocolate, sticky honey, black pepper, smoke and dried herbs throughout the palate and lingering in the finish.
Enjoy this whisky with freshly-shucked oysters or biltong (a South African cured meat), or if you have a sweeter tooth, try pairing it with sea-salt-infused dark chocolate.
