A 2006 Linkwood single malt from the Whisky Show 2022 bottlings that brings out the distillery's sweet, citrus-driven character. Matured in a pair of hogsheads for 16 years, it offers aromas of lemon tart, spearmint, pears, Granny Smith apples and golden syrup that fill the nose. The palate opens with notes of orange oil, kiwi, grapes, white chocolate, grassy sugar cane, elderflower and pear that are followed by buttery biscuits, green apples and candied lemons that linger in the finish.

A Christmas Speyside but not in the usual sherried cake tradition. This is candied orange butter cream. And loads of ginger nut biscuit on the finish.. The hogshead involvement hits like first fill bourbon cask similar to nadura. Doesn’t need much water at all despite the high abv, 9/10
