Product Description

A special 2009-vintage single malt whisky from Benrinnes specially selected by and bottled for us at The Whisky Exchange. It was matured in a single refill sherry butt for 12 years, before being bottled in 2022, giving it a rich and balanced festive character of spice, sweet fruit and toffee. The palate offers notes of sweet raisins, stewed berries, sticky toffee pudding and baked apples, with cinder toffee notes that linger into the finish.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Buttery apple pie and toffee apples to start, all bathed in sticky caramel sauce. Big green apple notes build, dowsed with vanilla cream. Hints of sultana and nectarine develop, along with sweet grapes and a touch of muscovado sugar.

    • Palate

Creamy vanilla toffee and the sharp apples from the nose lead to creamy coffee and baking spice: cinnamon and clove. The toffee continues to build along with touches of hazelnut and crunchy spun sugar.

    • Finish

Hazelnuts and cinnamon spice fade to reveal vanilla toffee and green apple.
