Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Rich and earthy smoke with layers of fresh and smouldering leaves – autumn bonfires on the beach. Salty caramel and mulchy hay roll across the beach, followed by mint fondant and sweet black liquorice. Tarred ropes, creosoted fences and singed seaweed notes build, all backed up by fresh sea breezes and sweet oak.

    • Palate

Softer and sweeter than expected, with fresh orchard fruit and golden syrup quickly overtaken by tar, creosote and pungent peat smoke. Chocolate lime sweets sit in the middle surrounded by fruity boiled sweets and smoky leather.

    • Finish

Leathery smoke lingers, joined by stewed orchard fruit and a touch of dark chocolate.
