A Perfect Measure sample bottle of the fifth release of The Lakes Distillery Whiskymaker's Reserve single malt, this whisky has been matured in a combination of oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximenez sherry and red wine casks, made with Spanish and American oak. Aromas of red apples, polished oak, chocolate and rich Devonshire cream fill the nose, complemented by notes of pecans, walnut, baklava, candied papaya, coffee, toasted brown sugar and clotted cream throughout the palate.

    Took a punt in on this, and very glad I did. Similar cask finishes as Glenallachie 10CS, but a little lighter and fruitier. Nice sherried expression, which makes a refreshing change from the usual Glen-Sherry whiskies I’m now a little too used to. Didn’t add water - don’t think it needs it. Very happy, reminds me of a Macallan NAS.

    Their best yet. Big praline & butterscotch with underlying fruitiness. Bottle is lovely heavy design too.

    The no4 was amazing. This is a bit fruitier in my humble opinion . Still very good
