The 2023-release of Blue Spot Seven Year Old was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and ex-Madeira casks. Bright tropical fruit give way to hints of spice and toasted hazelnut on the nose, leading to black pepper, toasted cinnamon and milk chocolate.

What I love about Blue Spot is that is showcases a youthful character that comes from a historic distillery. Being bottled at a high ABV can be challenging, but the blend of bourbon and madeira casks gives it a character you don’t typically find in a lot of whiskies. Richard Patrulei, Speciality Drinks
