Bruadar is a liqueur (formerly known as Scottish Highland) made with malt whisky, honey and sloe berries. Not too sticky.
I was never a whiskey drinker.... until a friend of mine I was visiting in the state of Oregon who had traveled to Europe asked me take a swig from his shiny flask of something he called 'Scotland's gift to humanity' I did and *WOW* The smoothness. The sweetness. And the hint of honey. *Wow* was all I could say as my first reaction. This was just amazing. Now I've had all kinds of whiskey, some from different countries, but mostly ones here in USA. Each time was always the same... it's ok... there's the harsh, the heat, the burn, the nasal clearing alcohol vapor.. and so on.. all being masked by certain flavors or lack thereof. To me, whiskey was just an ok alcohol drink, and I never went out of my way to purchase a bottle for myself. After my initial reaction, my friend proceeded to let me know that he had brought back a couple cases from his last trip, but was planning on getting more the next time he went, which is next year 2022 pandemic-travel permitting. I asked him to add a couple of bottles for me. His wife then gave me a bottle to take back home, which I've been savoring now for a month. I decided I couldn't wait for my friend to travel just to get more of this amazing liqueur so I did a search and found The Whisky Exchange, placed an order for 6 bottles, and in less than 2 weeks, I've been replenished with this liquid gold. Amazing that I received my order all the way here in Seattle, Washington in less than 2 weeks which is amazing, but I was even more impressed to see each one of the bottles was meticulously bubble-wrapped and packaged with care. So thankful and blown away by this level of attention to just one order. The Exchange has a new customer over 7500km away.
i sampled this at Edinburgh Castle while on vacation ( a fine Scottish gentleman was pouring samples) and was hooked. It is the finest drink I have ever tasted, friends and relatives that I have shared a taste with agree . I wish it was available in the United States. It would be worth another trip to Scotland.
I have never been a Scotch drinker, but this is exceptional! A good friend offered me a sample and I have been obsessed with finding it here in the US.
My dad had this while in Scotland and for Father's Day 2021, I surprised him with a bottle. Although losing his fight with cancer, this whiskey certainly brought a smile to his face, and made him light up. This whiskey is smooth and can be enjoyed easily on the rocks easily. I'm glad my dad introduced this to me; I will always have a few sips on Father's Day in memory of him.
Yes we have! Our son brought this as a gift in 1999. He was killed in a car wreck in 2005. We have been searching for this whiskey to toast him on the anniversary. We all loved it! Only whiskey I can drink on the rocks and actually enjoy!! Great drink!
