Matured in a single refill Hogshead cask for 25 years, this Old & Rare bottling of Laphroaig 1997 from Hunter Laing & Co is limited to only 139 bottles. As a long-time favourite of many Islay whisky fans, the Laphroaig distillery never seems to disappoint. The nose introduces aromas of lemon meringue pie along with vanilla ice cream and peat smoke - which develop into creamy, soft citrus on the palate. Leather, ash, and sandalwood soon join - leading to a long and complex smoky fruit finish.
