Doorly's 5 Year Old Rum

I gave this one a 4/10. Aromas of banana, stone fruit and cantaloupe melon, it's much fresher and mellow than my personal liking; probably a better option for mixing or starting your rum journey without burning your tastebuds on an XO. In the tasting, I experienced brighter notes with lemon, apricot and floral, which rounded off into a lemon zest and a stronger floral aftertaste. It lacked the body I was searching for, and was much happier with the 12.

Rich and tangy. Superb on its own or with a little ice.

Lovely flavour! Reminded me of Rum my Dad used to get! (Ex Royal Navy WW2) beautiful flavour. Bought some from foursquare distillery in Barbados. I am definitely going to purchase some more!

Very good quality rum. It's not your S.American sweetened and flavored jobby like Diplomatico etc. This is classic Barbados style and since it's made by Foursquare you know it's proper rum - fermented and distilled molasses...and nothing else. For under £20 you cannot ask for more especially when you consider that Captain Morgan and the like are similarly priced.

Very nice rum.....I'll have to try the XO.
