A sample of young Glenallachie whisky, which joined the distillery’s core range in 2022. Aged in a combination of ex-Pedro Ximenez, oloroso sherry, virgin oak and red wine casks, this expression offers notes of heather honey, butterscotch, warm spices, toasted almonds and dried sultanas throughout the palate.

    Good entry to GA range, and value for money. However very sweet and syrupy in comparison to the much better 15 yr old and 10 yr cask strength that I adore. Even sweeter than the 11PX and lacks the complexity of these other expressions. My view - great if you’re on a budget, but the older albeit more expensive Glenallachie bottles are much better. I was left craving a Campbeltown to balance the sugar overload after tasting.
