A Good Old-Fashioned Christmas Whisky 15 Year Old / 2023 Edition
Product Description

This rich, fruity single malt was matured entirely in ex-sherry casks laid down at a Speyside distillery 15 years ago. By carefully marrying these casks together, we’ve been able to create a complex dram filled with nostalgic notes of fruit cake, clementines, hazelnuts and plum pudding. As the name suggests, it’s an old-fashioned profile that recalls the traditional sherried malts of years gone by.

This limited-edition whisky is perfect for anyone who enjoys fine spirits and is best enjoyed with friends and loved ones in the light of the Christmas tree.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Joe Rogers (The Whisky Exchange)

    • Nose

Panettone with golden sultanas and candied orange and a glass of sweet wine on the side. Then sugared almonds, stem ginger, baked apples and caramel.

    • Palate

A lovely texture, oily and rounded. Toffee pennies from a tin of Quality street, Christmas cookies with vanilla and a dusting of nutmeg, clove studded oranges, russet apples, orange boiled sweets and honeycomb. Hot chocolate, chestnuts – possibly roasted on an open fire – oloroso sherry, a few coffee beans and a slice of fruit cake.

    • Finish

Long and rich. Tastes like Christmas all the way through.

    John,

Stunning! When I first poured a glass I found it almost undrinkable. I then looked at the alcohol volume, muttered a few words and added a drop of water. Totally different. An absolutely fantastic malt, just ordered a second bottle.

    Steve Walsh,

An awesome whisky. Tasting notes spot on and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing with friends and family sat in front of a lovely log fire. Will I get the 2024 version . Oh yes.

    Gary P,

A GREAT Old Fashioned Christmas Whisky, more like! Well done, TWE, for giving us a festive 15 year old single malt that's non-chill filtered, natural colour and 52.5% ABV. You'll probably want to add a drop of water to let it open up, but it's not harsh and the flavour really does deliver Christmas in a glass. I bought some at full price & I've bought another couple of bottles in the sale!
