1973 "Peat, Pepper and Vanilla" Bot.1992

SMWS Tasting NotesMid-gold colour from an excellent cask. The nose leaves one in no doubt as to the provenance and the addition of water does not alter its characteristics..The latter of course are peat, tar and disinfectant but not to such an extent that the innate properties of the whisky are submerged. It tastes sweet, slightly burnt and peppery, with a hint of vanilla. The aftertaste is very dry and as astringent: not malt so much as manzanilla.
