Product Description
A 24 year old Banff from Speyside, distilled in 1975 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society at cask strength. By the time this was bottled, the distillery had closed, being one of many victims of the 1983 cull.

SMWS Tasting Notes
-
During the Second World War, a stray German plane dropped a bomb on this distillery: nobody was injured but a warehouse was burned to the ground, and as whisky discharged into the burn, ducks and cows were visibly intoxicated. It closed in 1983. This refill cask has given the whisky a rich amber colour. The nose is, likewise, rich though somewhat cooling; fruits soaked in liquor, spice and fragrant wooden boxes. With water, a light Plasticine note emerges, joined by a trace of honey. The flavour is waxy and mouth-coating with a long finish. We were reminded of a well-worn and much-loved jacket. A cask to treasure.
