Product Description
This intensely tropical Ardmore is oldest of the three summer whiskies we’ve selected for our limited-edition series, The Seasons. After 26 years in oak it shows remarkable concentration, with powerful aromas of pineapple, peach and golden sultanas. As casks from the 1990s become increasingly scarce, we are proud to offer this exceptional Highland single malt to be enjoyed during the warmer months or any time you need to feel summery.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Dawn Davies MW, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Ripe peaches and beeswax (surfboard wax) with a hint of vanilla ice cream and some pineapple.
Palate
Sundried sultanas and a hint of freshly cut hay with a long, rich, honey-laden finish.
Fruit and Fire
Our summer Ardmore boasts intense tropical fruit notes with a rich texture reminiscent of warm beeswax. This is due in part to the fact that 1997 was the last year that this Highland distillery used direct fire to heat its stills. Open flames have almost completely disappeared from Scottish distilleries – for obvious reasons – but this old-fashioned production method is perfect for making whiskies with great texture and weight like this one.
The Seasons:
Summer
To represent the flavours and feelings of summer in our limited-edition series, The Seasons, we have paired this Ardmore with a juicy Benriach and a bright, fresh single malt from a mystery Lowland distillery. These will be joined in turn by bottlings that embody the flavours of autumn, winter and spring – making for 12 in total. Each one will come from a single cask, presented unfiltered and without any added colouring, to make sure the essential character of the whisky really shines.
