Product Description
This rye whisky is made using heritage grains from regenerative farming projects across England. Fielden was created in collaboration with archaeobotanist John Letts who has been studying and growing ancient cereals for the past 30 years. Pot distilled and aged in a combination of American oak and selected wine casks – including Sauternes and Moscatel – this is a big, chewy whisky with plenty of character. You can expect notes of brambles and wildflowers with fresh sourdough, vanilla caramel, black pepper and a hint of spearmint.

Fielden Rye Whisky
Fielden Rye is the evolution of The Oxford Artisan Distillery project. Bringing together the various threads of experimentation that the distillery has been working on since its founding in 2017, it is a combination of unmalted and malted rye, wheat and malted barley, distilled in both pot and column stills, and matured in bourbon and wine casks. These have been carefully selected and blended to create a well-rounded and expressive whisky that focuses on the flavour of the grains that it is made from.
Whisky of England
Grain is at the heart of Fielden – hence the name, a word meaning ‘of the fields’ – and the distillery’s team of grain scientists are reaching beyond their original Oxfordshire home to the rest of the country to create a “Whisky of England”. They are investigating heritage grains, as well as older and alternative methods of agriculture to change the way we cultivate and think about grain – all a continuation of Fielden head of farming John Letts’s decades of research.
