King's Ginger Liqueur / Berry Bros & Rudd / Half Litre
Product Description

Now made in England at a lower strength, with the warmth provided by extra ginger in the recipe, this unique liqueur was created for King Edward VII to keep him warm on drives in his new open top Daimler car. The distinctive smooth ginger flavour is perfectly balanced by a pleasingly clean, dry finish.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Producer's Tasting Notes

    • Colour

Hay and straw, rich golden syrup.

    • Nose

It is unmistakably Ginger – a cloud of fresh natural ginger with a faint aura of zesty lemon swiftly entices the first sip.

    • Palate

The initial flow of ginger syrup sweetness is gently interrupted by the tingle of fresh ginger and a subtle and gentle uplift of lemon citrus. Warm, fulfilling and of great length.

    Sol,

This liqueur was a gift from an old friend. to taste on the palate I enjoyed immensely with a little ice, found it to be refreshing with an after taste that lingered on and on. Thankyou for this deep yet mild tasting liqueur. yummmm!

    Anonymous,

The old original recipe is vile. Far too much ginger. The stronger dark bottle is the one to buy.

    Outraged of Twickenham,

Awful reformulation. The original was a punchy blend that added depth to a rye Old Fashioned. This codswallop manages to combine a waft of lemon drain cleaner with far too harsh a ginger fore palate. Doubtless `reimagineered' by a marketing type for those Millennials too lazy/stupid to do anything else than tonic over their drinks. BBR should be ashamed of themselves.

    Sandra,

OMG what have they done to this amazing warming gingery liqueur. We have converted so many people to the original. Tried this new (dare I say ‘version’ as it is NOTHING like the original) Yuk yuk yuk. Please bring back the original

    Dave,

Shocking Cannot understand why they have changed the recipe for what used to be a lovely warming liqueur. Will not be buying again
