Product Description
With Eaux-de-Vie aged between 16 and 24 years old this well-matured cognac has been seasoned for a generation in older, seasoned, casks which help to develop its aromas and rancio character. Patrick Drouet rather coyly describes it thus; “This cognac of a certain age is ample and delicate. It is smooth, presenting some notes of rancio.” It is certainly well matured, sophisticated, intriguing and well worth discovering to the full.

Upfront gingerbread & spongecake aromas - plus cocoa powder, icing sugar etc. Toffee apple and furniture polish lurking behind. Faint hint of liquorice emerging, apple peel, some dried orange peel, mocha, hot-buttered white toast. In a word: Heavenly.

Smooth as a silk scarf and yet somehow every drop is totally packed with flavour without a single element dominating. Silky tannins, ripe fruit, sweet spices (and a lot else besides) all harmonise in waves of beautifully-nuanced flavours.

Long, sweet and almost indecently sensual. A come-to-bed cognac.

Pulling off a massive flavour impact with every single element both well-defined and perfectly-integrated into the whole is probably the hardest task of a blender. Yet somehow this house seems to achieve it effortlessly.
