Product Description
A 2003 Scapa single malt bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange, this was matured in first-fill American oak barrels for 19 years before bottling in August 2022.
This is a rare whisky: one of the few official Scapa bottlings available when it was released, it was also our first ever shop exclusive and it's bottled at cask strength. A fruity, sweet Orkney single malt, the palate offers notes of fresh apricots, orange marmalade and homemade fudge that linger in the finish.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Granny smith apples and vanilla cream to start. Layers of apple and fruit build: sour sliced apples, boiled sweets, apple pies and apple sauce. That’s all quite green and fresh, balanced by some sultana and dried apricot fruitiness. Briney notes float around the edges, joined by building citrus – lemon zest and orange marmalade with peel.
Palate
More apples, this time with extra apricot, barley sugar and pear drops. Lemon sherbet sweets develop along with touches of violet and spiced shortbread. The marmalade from those nose hides underneath, along with wax polished oak, baking spices and a touch of honey.
Finish
Ryvita crackers with honey, sweet liquorice and buttered toast with apple jam.

Smooth warm and fruity easy drinking with pleasant after taste which lingers.
Got it a few weeks ago when it was reduced to under £100. It's a great whisky but not worth nearly £200. There's so much great whisky to be had from the likes of Cadenheads and Signatory at a fraction of these prices.
My favorite bottle as a bourbon cask lover
I brought this last minute for a special 70th birthday tasting! Everyone got the profile and agreed it was their favourite against other 19/21/28 year old whiskies. Soft on palate, vanilla , toffee and apples. Lovely finish kind of honey and yummy !!
Excellent dram, soft and delicious. You will not be disappointed!
