This small distillery in the Kingdom of Fife was a cult favourite even before its first single malt hit our shelves. At Daftmill, founder Francis Cuthbert grows barley, distils and ages whisky all on one estate. This particular cask was filled in 2010 and bottled in 2023, exclusively for The Whisky Exchange. An excellent example of the refined Lowland character we’ve come to expect from this one-of-a-kind distillery, it shows aromas of beeswax, lemon cheese cask and honeysuckle on the nose, leading to notes of toasted barley, orange pith and baked bread on the palate.

Tasting Notes

Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
- Nose
  Sugared almonds and meadow flowers, with fruit blossom and freshly sliced, slightly crunchy pear. Light, creamy custard notes developed along with soft baking spice and barley sugar. Gentle lemon zest and candied lemon notes lead to brioche and lightly toasted baguette.
- Palate
  Richly textured with well-balanced spice. Creamy vanilla and candied lemon peel lead to pear drops fresh pears, before richer notes of sultana-studded bread-and-butter pudding emerge. Orchard fruit develops alongside oaky spice and cocoa nibs.
- Finish
  Sweet and fruity with apples, pears and brown sugar.
