Product Description

Whisky should always have a sense of humour and the Thompson Brothers never fail to deliver. This Glen Scotia bottling is no exception.

The label draws inspiration from a vintage 1930s Champagne poster, reimagined with a playful twist. The original subject has been replaced by our buyer, Dawn — a passionate lover of wine and Champagne; which naturally led to the name Dawny Port.

This single malt whisky from Glen Scotia has been aged for 10 years, with four of those years spent maturing in Tawny Port casks. The result is a beautifully balanced dram with both depth and character.

On the nose, expect earthy Indian spice market aromas intertwined with notes of sultana and plum. The palate offers a rounded mouthfeel, showcasing flavours of red cherry, vanilla, and barley sugar, leading into a long, elegant finish laced with sweet spices.

A dram best enjoyed with a wedge of Stilton — or while unwinding with a good book

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Big and fruity, with cherry, raspberry and strawberry jams up front, with chocolate-covered raisins, spiced spongecakes (with a red-jam filling), honey-forward flapjacks and cinnamon-dusted apple pies developing.

    • Palate

The jam from the nose leads on the palate, with buttery cake batter, raisins, sultanas and baking spice to follow. Fresh and baked apples build, along with hints of black liquorice and barrel char, and lots of maraschino cherries.

    • Finish

Warming spice and chocolate-covered raisins and cherries, with chocolate fudge cake and baked apples.
