Product Description
A single-cask release from Japan's Mars, exclusively available from The Whisky Exchange. It's a fruity whisky, matured in a bourbon cask and packed with tropical fruit, soft spice and vanilla. Distilled at Mars's Komagatake distillery, formerly known as Shinshu, in Nagano, it matured in the company's ageing cellar on Yakushima island, situated off the south coast of Japan.
This is the fifth entry in the distiller's Sumo range and highlights tsukidashi, the frontal thrust out. It's a classic finishing move where the wrestler pushes his opponent out of the ring with rapid thrusts to the face and chest.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Tarte tatin with lots of brown sugar, freshly sliced sweet and sour apples, unripe pears and a touch of wood polish. Mango and sultanas develop, along with cinnamon spice, crunchy toffee apples and hints of peach.
Palate
Intense, with a big punch of fruit up front: apples, pears, mango and hints of pineapple. Darker notes of sugary pastry and ginger biscuits develop, with touches of dark caramel, balanced by brighter minty notes.
Finish
Lingering apples and pears – crunchy and bright as well as lightly stewed – with polished oak, cinnamon spice and a hint of mint.
