Product Description
Bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange, this single cask Arran was matured for 15 years, the time in oak adding depth and structure to a bright, richly layered dram. It effortlessly captures the distillery’s vibrant, fruit-forward character, balanced by oak depth and cask-strength intensity.
Expect ripe orchard fruit, honey and citrus oil layered with vanilla and soft spice, leading to a long, warming finish with drying oak and lingering sweetness.
Although many island distilleries like Talisker, Highland Park and those in Islay are known for their more rugged, peaty spirits, Arran’s style is typically more nuanced, and often very fruit forward. We selected this refill sherry hogshead as an exclusive single cask for The Whisky Exchange because it really epitomises Arran at it’s best - restrained, approachable but with a flamboyance of orchard fruit and rounded texture. The spirit charater and cask type are really working together to create something beautiful. Chris Bolton, Own Label and Brand Product Manager

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Bright orchard fruit with apple blossom to start, with sugared almonds, mint fondant and vanilla cream. Green leaves and a touch of white chocolate develop, joined by chalky Refreshers sweets, spiced sponge cake and hints of sultana.
Palate
Richly textured and weightier than the nose suggests, with a background of creamy toffee covered by fruit: sharp and sweet apples, star fruit, crunchy pears and just-ripe pineapple. Sweet shop notes develop: sour gummi chews, more of the nose’s mint fondant and wine gums. Cinnamon spice slowly builds.
Finish
Rich Tea biscuits and apple sauce fade to leave hints of mint and flaked almond.
A Style Of Its Very Own
From its impressive peaks to its rugged coasts, rich farmland to lush forests, there’s no place quite like Arran – it is Scotland in miniature, home to whiskies big in character. Mature yet vibrant, with bright fruit and oaky depth, this single cask is a harmonious expression of Arran’s signature nuanced style. One found nowhere else.
