Known as the home of the El Dorado Rum, the Diamond Distillery is an icon of Guyana’s rum production. Founded in 1670 Diamond distillery is currently home of Demerara Distillers limited, a merge from 1983 between 3 distilleries Diamond, Enmore who closed in 1994 and Uitvlugt who closed their production 1999. Stills from Port Mourant and Versailles are also used at the distillery.
