Calvados and Cider Brandy

Calvados, made almost exclusively in Normandy, is a cider spirit, made with specific apples or pears (some of them being very old varieties), and there are four types of apples used in cider making: sweet, bittersweet, bitter and sour. Today, Calvados and other cider brandies are a thoughtful choice for an after-dinner drink, and popular with lovers of Cognac and Armagnac.
