Single Traditional BlendedRum
The more traditional distilleries around the world focus on two categories of rum – pot still and traditional column still. The latter style of still has been around for a couple of centuries, and its addition to the arsenal of rum producers has had more impact on the style of modern rum than almost any other innovation.
The weighty and rich character that old-fashioned pot stills produce can be intimidating to drinkers, and single distillery releases can be even more so, concentrating a distillery's character. With the addition of column stills, a distillery can alter the character of its rums easily: mixing lighter spirit into the blend creates more refined rums, opening the doors to even more worldwide trade.
Single Traditional Blended is very much the backbone of the explosion of rum through the 20th century, laying the foundation for the current rum trade and its myriad of styles.
