La Hechicera Rum Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Producer's Notes

Flavour: deep woodiness with characterful notes of things Colombian; a heady scent of toffee and orange peel on the nose followed by a bold burst of flavour on the palate with distinctive notes of tobacco and roasted coffee. Its ending is crisp and smooth.

Great smooth taste, round finish and a lot of toffee, a fantastic blend, comparable to rums at 100 euro easily!

In the nose seems strong, but it's not! Not at all! Kind of sweet, little citrus, a lot of vanilla and caramel= toffee and i think honey in the end! Quite nice and easy going!

Right there with the Zacapa solera 23. Hiding the bottle. Do not want to finish this in one night. Do not want others to find it.

A superb rum and, in my opinion, one of the best in the this price range. It is far superior to many of it's 'sweeter' and 'sugar heavy' South American counterparts.

This is a very dry rum very reminiscent of a high rye whiskey, it does not have what I call the “Pirate Elixir” thing going on and for me this is a must with sipping rum. It has a bit of sugar and a medicinal taste. It does mix well in cocktails because it is not very sweet so hoods up to coke, simple syrup etc. But just did not have the Caribbean Brown Sugar Sunset taste I look for in a rum.

Absolutely fabulous rum. I have tried several over several years, as said previously a superb sipping rum, definitely one to get "rumbustuous" with! Try you won't be disappointed !

A remarkably tasty rum, strong fruit and caramel tones with a clean perky finish. The bottle is even better looking in real life, smartens up any shelf.

Been working my way through recommendations from Whisky Exchange staff for quite a while now. This is an excellent sipping rum with just a cube of ice. Orangy, smokey aroma with a fruity hit on the palate followed by a hint of coffee and toffee. Love this. Up there with El Dorado 12yr, Diplomatico Grand Reserva and Abuelo 12yr easily...not quite up to Ron Zacapa 23 standard though.
